Success story : Restaurant ROB (Woluwe)

“We attach great importance to making our infrastructure as accessible to everyone as possible”.

The delicatessen “Rob The Gourmet’s Market”, an emblematic place in Brussels since 1972, houses a gourmet restaurant on the first floor of its store.

When it was designed in November 2007, there was a strong desire to make the restaurant accessible to everyone by installing an elevator equipped with Braille buttons, a door width of 90cm and a handrail.

In a cozy and vegetal atmosphere, the chefs offer a menu with fresh products, rigorously selected and available in the store.

Whether for breakfast, for lunch or for a snack in the afternoon, the team takes care to welcome you with a smile and serve you throughout the day.

Little anecdote, during my visit to write the article, I met a family of 3 generations gathered to celebrate the birthday of their one-year-old granddaughter.

They mention the importance of this place to meet because it was the only wheelchair accessible restaurant in the area.

Arriving by public transport?

Tram No. 8 drops you off there in front of the establishment.

A tactile guide takes you to the foot of the store.

Arriving by car?

The establishment has free parking with 2 spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility.

The little extra…

An accessible toilet is located in the basement in front of a superb wine cellar.

To get there, have someone accompany you because you have to take a sloping treadmill.
